Susan H. Guppy died, surrounded by her family, on September 30, 2017 following a very brief illness.
Susan was born on May 1, 1943 to Norman and Astrid Snow and raised in Framingham, MA. In 1965 she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, James Guppy.
Together they created a beautiful life full of travel, family and friends. Susan and James raised their two daughters on Long Island, NY for 25 years then retired to New Hampshire until following their children to Rochester 7 years ago. Family was Susan's greatest joy, she adored spending time with her grandchildren, playing games and baking with them. The family cottage of 35 years in Maine was her retreat and family gathering place. She was an avid sports fan, regularly attending high school sporting events for her own children, and in New Hampshire and Henrietta after her own children were grown. She was a crafter and a seamstress, often making her own clothes. She gifted her quilts, clothes and other creations to all of those in her life.
She made time every week for Bingo. Church was an important part of her life. She held the position of Head Deacon, was an active member of the Women's Fellowship, a member of the choir and she volunteered at the church food bank.
While living in Moultonborough, NH, Sue and her husband Jim were members of the Lions Club from February 1999 to January 2011 when they moved to Rochester. Sue served on Membership Committee and was extremely active on several raffle committees, Bingo, the annual golf tournament, Fourth of July parade and picnic, as well as the calling committee and working in the kitchen and various social activities.
Sue received a pin for perfect attendance ten years in a row!
