PDG Joe Caouette

Joseph E. Caouette
( August 02, 1929 - December 24, 2018 )
Rollinsford- Joseph E. Caouette, 89, of Main Street died at his
home on Monday December 24, 2018
Born August 2, 1929 in Dover, the son of Joseph E. and Ida
(LePage) Caouette. Joe served his country in the United States Marine
Corp. He went on to be the Postmaster of the Rollinsford and
Somersworth, NH Post Offices.
Joe dedicated his life to many causes most importantly the
American Legion post 47 Rollinsford. During his tenure, he served as
post commander, NH Department commander, National Vice
Commander, and his current position, Chairman Emeritus of
Americanism. 1--1e was very active with the American Legion Oratorical
contest, and American Legion Baseball.
Joe was active in the town of Rollinsford. He was the town
moderator for many years as well as serving in various positions
including Town Selectman and Zoning Board commissioner. He asks that
in his remembrance those who wish to display the United States flag.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish in Rollinsford. At
St. Mary's he served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, member of the
pastoral council, and chair of the 150 th anniversary committee.
Joe is survived by his two sisters, Aurore "Ora" Hebert of Dover
and Jeannette Gove of Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers Roland and Paul
Caouette; and his longtime companion Lydia Riley.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 30, 2018 from 4-
6pm at the Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Ave Dover, NH. There will
also be a time of visitation on Monday December31, 2018 from 9-
10:45am at Tasker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow
at llam at St. Mary's Church, Church Street, Rollinsford, NH. Burial will
be at St. Michaels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donations be made to the
Post 47 scholarship fund or a charity of your choice.
